From the Romsdalfjord it is a few km into the valley and then the climb starts. The route 63 goes from Åndalsnes to southern Norway. Be prepared and be rested. Surrounded by mighty mountain peaks, the asphalt rises dizzyly. The Trollstigen is one of the best known mountain roads in Norway and is included as a National Tourist Route. The route is therefore popular with tourists. Departure in the morning to stay ahead of the campers and buses, only a single Norwegian cyclist will then pass you who is training. The hairpin bends (11 in total!) Take you out of the shadow of the valley and the surroundings are clearly visible: snow-covered ridges are interrupted by waterfalls that turn into a green valley and the fjord in the distance …. beautiful! While cycling you experience the landscape more intensively and you have more time to absorb everything. The effort is rewarded with panoramic views from the mountains. After 850 meters with an average increase of 9% further you will arrive at the Trollstigheim viewpoint. Prepare for admirable glances from the drivers you may recognize. Due to the unique architecture and location, the restaurant is an attraction in itself and certainly worth seeing.
